Knights of Malta open health centre in northern Iraq

Holy Cross Sisters and staff As part of its mission to support Iraq's displaced Christians, the Knights of Malta, Germany have opened a new health centre in Ankawa, in the north of the country. The centre, which costs 89,000USD, will contain six clinics, a theatre for minor operations and a pharmacy. St Joseph medical centre was officially inaugurated by Archbishop Bashar Warda of the Chaldean Catholic Church on Sunday 2 November, 2014. The centre will provide primary health services for the displaced families. It will be run by volunteer medical staff and Sisters of the Holy Cross from India.
